Fob / Key Programming
All Keys Lost
Before we begin work on your vehicle, we require a copy of your ID, and either a title or registration in your name. This information will be uploaded to a key broker and then deleted from our devices.
- Email or text us your VIN, car color, vehicle location, plate number, and estimated mileage. If you don’t have your plate number, retrieve it from oplates.com and send us a screenshot including your last name and plate number.
- A non-refundable $85 key code fee is required before we arrive onsite. A payment link will be provided. The key will be cut at our warehouse and programmed onsite. The key code charge is non-refundable even if we do not provide a key or fob. The key code is specific to your car and shared with you post-purchase.
- If your ignition cylinder or door locks have been changed, the key may not work. This might necessitate decoding, rekeying, or replacement, with prices varying. If no work is performed due to a previous replacement, a $50 trip fee applies. Decoding by our Specialist costs $400 and varies by availability.
- Some vehicles, such as Ford, require two keys. The quote includes one key; the second key must be purchased separately.
Key Cutting or Duplicating
After cutting, we decode your key at least twice to ensure precision. Key cutting times vary between 5 minutes to one hour due to potential dullness and machine variations. If we cannot decode your existing key, we may need to order your key code, with required documents as specified in the 'All Keys Lost' section.
Programming
Process
Programming can take from 3 minutes to one hour, depending on the vehicle. For Chevrolets and Fords, it typically takes 10 minutes to an hour. Some cars cannot be programmed by us; alternative options will be discussed if this occurs. If programming exceeds 30 minutes, an additional $25 per fifteen minutes will be charged. You assume all risks and agree not to hold our company, subcontractors, or partners accountable for any faults due to your car’s mechanics or the programming process. Using our service means you accept these terms.
- A trip fee is charged if the car battery is dead or weak, as programming won’t work with an inefficient battery. If we encounter this issue, a $50 trip fee applies.
- If the vehicle isn’t running at the time of programming and you purchase our product, there are no refunds. A service fee and/or programming fee will apply if a return visit is required.
- Ensuring your battery can sustain a charge during programming is your responsibility.
Fobs, Keys, and Remotes
Products
We primarily supply aftermarket parts but can provide OEM products upon request. OEM parts cost more. Aftermarket and some OEM parts may not always program successfully. If a replacement is needed, we will notify you when the product is in.
- If you provide your own product and it’s defective, we can supply one of ours for an additional fee.
- A $50 trip fee applies if your product does not work, and you do not choose ours.
- We may offer remotes that don’t look like the original but function correctly. You can opt for a similar remote at a discounted price. You are free to seek another locksmith if you prefer.
Aftermarket
To save costs, we use aftermarket products. If a product doesn’t work, we may need to order a new one if not in stock. We assess your key/fob before and after service and start your car for 3 minutes, when possible.
Quality Check
Verification
After completing the job, we conduct an internal quality check, followed by your verification. Acceptance of the product signifies the end of the transaction with no warranties offered and no returns.
- No refunds after acceptance.
- If you cancel within two hours of the appointment or your car is mechanically unfit for service, a $50 trip fee applies.
Safety
Technician Safety
For safety, do not approach the technician’s vehicle. Technicians will initiate the transaction. They are trained to leave if they feel unsafe and periodic wellness checks are conducted.
- Technicians may wear masks and gloves. Customers are encouraged to wear masks and ensure a clean and safe environment.
- Inform the technician of any pests or rodents in advance to avoid a $50 trip fee with no service being provided.

Releases
Vehicle Programming Risks
Some vehicles may become immobilized during programming due to BCM issues. You assume all risks and release us from responsibility.
- Programming may require steering release locks, which could lead to malfunction. You accept this risk.
- Malfunctions or immobilization due to programming are your responsibility.
- Your car's mechanics may be faulty, and programming could worsen the condition.
- We are not responsible for any data related issues such as breaches or selling your information, as a result of the Hardware or Software used in the transactions.
- By using our service, you acknowledge these risks and agree to hold us harmless.
